Meanwhile the new owner of the stone was Jon's mother. For the next month she would think her father had willed the magic stone to her instead of to Jon. After all, she didn't even remember she had a son named Jon.
Of course, there was a limit as to what damage she could do. Jon had wished that when the condition was up, he would return to his own body, that of Jon Gibson. So she couldn't accidentally wish away Jon, even if she did remember him somehow--he'd have to return to his own body.
Still, she was busy making wishes. She got a nicer house and car, of course, and some money... but at one point she was curious as to what it would be like if her son Mikey was a girl. And as such things go, she worded it very poorly.
"I wish that my children are all girls, but I can go back to having one son any time I want."
