It wasn't the stone. It was too white and too big, and there was something orange near it. Jon and Karyn had done homework together in the past, and Jon figured out that the white blob with the orange blob was probably Karyn's orange folder with paper in it.
But then Jon wondered: just where did the stone go?
He realized this could be really bad. The fantasy itself was perverted, but would be over in a month... but he was in trouble from something more mundane that might last forever.
Jon's grandfather had given him the stone. But for the next month, Jon didn't exist--in fact, it's as if Jon never existed. So if Jon never existed, who did his grandfather give the stone to?
Whoever it was, they'd be making wishes for the next month. Wishes that Jon wouldn't hear, so he would think were real, and wishes that were permanent.
