There was a knock on the door. It was Mikey. "Jen?" he asked. "Can I ask you a question?"
"Of course," said Jon/Jen.
Mikey sat down on the bed next to Jen and asked, "Am I really going to turn into a girl when I get older?"
"Of course you are," said Jen. "All boys turn into girls, just like girls turn into guys. Do you remember when I turned into a girl?"
"Not really," said Mikey. "Mostly that you started dressing like one and you wanted to be called Jen instead of Jon. Its just that my friend Bobby's older brother is turning into a girl and now they don't spend time together."
"Well," said Jon. "When Bobby turns into a girl, they'll have something in common again and maybe they'll spend time together again."
"Does changing hurt at all?" asked Mikey.
"Not at all," said Jen. "It is a little awkward at first, but everyone goes through that. And, believe me, you'll love being a girl once you become one. Its so much better than being a boy."
