"Matt ..." Jon could hear his brother stepping out of his room. "You gotta read this!"
"Huh?" Matt hardly ever saw Jon read that old encyclopedia. But Jon had never seen Matt in a feminine outfit tailored to fit a partly male body. Matt had the bust, hips, and crotch of a female, but had the broad shoulders and muscles of a male.
Jon's eyes were wide with shock. "Looks like you did find something that fit better."
"And it even looks decent. Not too tight. Or frilly." Matt stroked the ends of the sleeves of his bright red blouse.
Jon didn't feel like holding up a heavy volume all day. "Uh, Matt, check this out. This passage is about you."
"Okay." Matt took the book from Jon. "It is. I guess ... you've flipped!"
"Yeah." Jon nodded. "So have Mom and Dad and every other man and woman in this town, just like I wished. Every adult. Everyone who went through puberty except you."
Matt looked up from the book. "But Mikey -"
"Hasn't gone through puberty." Jon shook his head. "Yet. That's why I saw him with a skirt."
"I guess that would be a big deal for you. I'm so used to seeing Mikey with a skirt that I wouldn't think twice. I've always like skirts, and you used to too ... at least in the reality I remember."
Jon felt the stone in his pocket. "It's gone now ..."
Matt's eyes scanned the book's text. "Says here that us rare unflipped people tend to be attracted to ... other unflipped people. And vice versa for the flipped majority. I wonder if I have a girlfriend here."
"Do you want to find out the hard way?" asked Jon. "Or do you want to ask the stone?"
