Susan was the first to speak. “Hi Mrs Mahoney, have you seen my brother this morning.” She asked the older woman. “Not this morning dear. The only students I have seen are the two new girls and young Jody. Such a nice girl she is showing them to their classrooms just now. “Came the reply.

“Keep an eye open for young Tom if you don’t mind and keep him here if he turns up.” Miss Lyons told Mrs Mahoney. “Come on Susan we will look elsewhere.” She said as she turned to the student standing beside her looking dejected.

A few corridors away Tom had been trying to work out a way of telling Jody who he really was without letting Jane know what he was doing. He had decided to wait until it was just him and Jody walking to Tammy’s new classroom. Suddenly at least that is how it seemed to him the stopped.

Jody turned to him and said to him. “Ok Tammy this is your stop. Jane yours is little bit further yet.” Tom’s face went white so much so that it could be seen through the make up the girls on the bus had put on him. Jody turned and opened the classroom door and with a rather ashcan looking Tom a few steps behind her the three girls walked inside.

In the short time it had taken Tom to reach his destination his sister and the deputy principle had carried out a search of the small number of rooms that where next to the main office without a sign of the erstwhile schoolboy or should that be schoolgirl. Miss Lyons had suggested to Susan to get to her class and she would let her know when Tom turned up. Miss Lyons was beginning to think that the boy had decided to take the day off rather than be seen wearing a girls’ uniform by his friends. If that was the case, he would not just wear it for the one day as arranged. A week or longer possibly after he was stopping her little girl from getting a good grade in her schoolwork all because of his ego. Before these ideas of punishing him could take hold she was called in to the principles office as they had a meeting about class schedules after one of the teachers had went on maternity leave on Friday. So putting all thoughts of the vanishing young boy to one side she walked into the meeting.

Susan on the other hand was concerned about her brother as she walked into her classroom. She had promised her mom that she would keep him safe while he was wearing her uniform and now, she had lost him. What would her mom say?
