“Hey cutie.”
Jon looked around his locker door to find Karyn standing there, flashing him a warm smile. Weird, Karyn had never called him “Cutie” before.
“Oh, hey Karyn.” Jon greeted his friend as he returned to collecting his books for the next class. “I don’t suppose that you notice anything odd about me do you?” He asked, somehow guessing the answer.
Karyn studied him as he closed his locker and frowned.
“Nope, is that a new shade of lipstick or something?” She asked shrugging her shoulders. Jon shook his head.
“Karyn! Boys aren’t supposed to wear makeup!” He said frustratedly. “Girls are.”
Karyn laughed. “Since when?” She asked when she had a minute to catch her breath.
“Since always.” Jon crossed his arms over his chest and frowned.
“That’s a good one Jon-boy. Imagine me with makeup.” She mimed trying to put on lipstick clumsily and then laughed again. “You’re cute when you pout like that.” She said winking at him.
Frustrated, Jon stormed off. Why was he the only one to notice?
