"Well that was weird." Alex said, looking around. Beyond the second and a half where the world glitched out, nothing seemed to have changed.
The were beginning to look back at the app when suddenly the door to the backroom slammed open and Leslie strode in.
Leslie was Alex's closest friend at the establishment, they were both around the same age, had graduated about the same time, though from different colleges and were both stuck in the substandard employment hole.
She was a short young woman, who was a bit on the shy side, but she was very relaxed and had a good sense of humor.
"Hey Lez!" Alex waved, only for Leslie to walk right past them to the shelves at the back.
Miffed, Alex got up and waved a hand in her face. "HellooOOoooo, Earth to Lez!"
Leslie continued to shuffle boxes around, searching for something as if Alex didn't exist, not even flinching or blinking as the hand passed directly in front of her eyes.
Alex stumbled back in shock.
"Holy crap..."
A few more attempts to grab Lezlie's attention and Alex was convinced.
Whatever the app was, wherever it came from... It worked.
