The sphinx seemed quite happy upon her work and wish. Finally, there seemed to be a light at the end of the tunnel. The exodus and departure of the great races had left a hole in her heart. She had been told where to find a power that could restore her race but never did she imagine, that it would be the Stone. Forget kings, forget wish rings, forget genies, forget gods... There was nothing that could compare to this power that she held in her paws at this moment in time. To know where it would be at the right time, and claim it... even if only for a moment, was the greatest point of her long life. There was only one thing she desired. She was the last of her people, the only true Sphinx in all the world of worlds...

But oh how tricky the stone could be. If she wished directly for what she wanted, it would have twisted it. The stone knew of her intentions. Knowing of Jon, and what she had become was the only chance she had. So she made her wish, and cosigned Jon to her fate. "I'm sorry Jon, you'll get used to it in a few centuries or so," she said to herself. She was practically doing her a favour Suddenly, there was something else. Something in the dark shadows.

"...What have you done, Sphinx," said the male voice.

The sphinx turned in surprise. How in the world had someone followed her! That was not possible. It simply could not be! " I wished what I had to." She said simply. "Finding the means to make this happen came at great cost to me... but it was worth it."

The man snarled a little, with brimming anger. Yet he was calm, and collected. " You placed a great burden upon someone I care about. Your attempts to change his destiny will fail."

"His destiny?!" The Sphinx snarled. "You humans are so stupid, you can not see this for what it is. You see a plague, I see rebirth. In my time we carried the sun in chariots of human origin! We will rise mankind to Heaven itself with our return! This is no disease! She was made into a sphinx for a purpose. My Purpose! When his form was chosen by the gods, I made a wish to ensure the continuation of my people. You should be grateful!"

The man took a long slow breath. ".. I am truly sorry for what happened to your race. But you can not do this." The voice explained with a curious gentleness. It was as if he knew exactly where the Sphinx was coming from, but... this was still so very wrong.

"Why not! It is done. The Stone has accepted the wish, and I am content to wait the centuries to see what will be." The beautiful sphinx had a content gleam in her eye. It was as if she could finally rest.

The figure shook his head. "You speak of destiny... I don't know, what my grandson's destiny is. I do know, he-"

"She," corrected the sphinx.

The man frowned. "She is a clever girl and there is nothing you can do to force her into something she will not want to do. I have made wishes of my own, to protect her.. how do you think I came to be here now? I wished that if someone made a wish to ever concern my grandson directly, I would be here. I would know what had happened..."

"You might know, but you can not interfere. I know what happened to you." As if to prove her point, the sphinx launched her legs and paws upon the man. It was like a lion attacking it's meal.. and yet, there was nothing to hold. The man was not there... just a ghost. A simple ghost of an apparition, with no more substance then a message on a wall.

The man shrugged. "True, I could not be here in the flesh... my destiny concerns your people, and all the other races as well. You are giving me a very big headache by this wish and set back much of my work. Once I find the means to undo wishes, I will return and help Jon."

" you will fail. It can't be done. You will wonder those deserts, those ancient holds, and die alone. You can never succeed. Only those who created the stone can possibly undo its magic, and they left this world and all worlds we can wonder."

"They exist in the Unfathomable... I know," nodded the man. "But I have my own reasons for seeking them out, and I will find them. If it can be done.. it will be done. As I have wished."

At that, the ghostly entity disappeared. He had a solemn expression as he stared at the sphinx...

The sphinx looked unimpressed by that look to try and guilt her by her actions. Her plan was finally... complete. More Sphinx's will fill the sky, and Jon will be as Eden to her race. She had done nothing less then what mankind would have done, if they were on the brink of extinction. Maybe she had been brought to their level but... this was a necessary step.

This 'plague' was the gods way of saying...

...welcome back... all...

..is...

...forgiven.

David was still adjusting to being a rabbit girl.

She had tossed out all her old clothes that would no longer fit, and replaced it all with things that were more... normal. She could get over most things with her changes, even her three breasts were starting to become... well... forgettable.

But her feet was probably the trickiest thing to really try to ignore. They were.. big, and just so obviously not human, with the way they stood on tiptoes. Her ears were pretty long too. After some time packing and putting her other clothes into a bag she decided to step out into the garden. The sun had just started to set, and there was a cool breeze in the air.

She sat down, looking like... any other young teenager would. Not moping exactly, but certainly thinking as she hugged her knees up to her chest. Her ears flopped down, matching her emotions as they tickled her small shoulders.

"I'm such a freak," she whispered.

"I don't think you're a freak." said a voice.

David was startled and looked around. "W-Who..."

"Down here miss," said the voice again.

David looked down, and had the most peculiar sight befall her. " a talking rabbit?" It was a small little white rabbit, as white as snow. With cute long ears. It seemed nonplussed to be talking to her as david arched an eyebrow. "Oh.. I must be going nuts!" she got up suddenly making the rabbit take a hop back.

"No- but it's nice to have someone who can speak both human and rabbit. I haven't heard of one that can do that since the old old old days," the rabbit sniffed at some grass while eating it. "Is this your warren? It's awfully large..."

"The house? Yeah... it's mine- well my mother's," she explained.

"Oh, you are a young doe aren't you," the rabbit nodded. "Hard to tell since you are so big. I hope you don't mind me being a neighbour. My family moved in just a few days ago. Seems like a nice place but lacking in food. Where do you get it from?"

"The shops... I... guess I can get you some," said David still not quite sure where this is going.

"Oh that would be wonderful! May I know your name?"

"I'm.. David," said the rabbit girl still quite unsure. 'I'm talking to a rabbit', she thought to herself. 'It's asking me for food like a neighbour, and I'm just.. doing small talk with it?' Has the world really become this weird?

"Nice to meet you. I'm Seekerfoot."

"That's... quite a strange name to me," explained David. "Seekerfoot?"

"That's right. David is a pretty strange name to me. At least my name says something about me, yours says nothing at all. I think I'll call you... Big-Doe."

David blinked. "You are not calling me Bigdoe!" She clenched her fist in anger.

"Well what would you suggest?" asked Seekerfoot. "I thought it suited you quite well. Mind you I can't imagine the rabbit that made you," it almost giggled.

"I was born from my mother. A human okay?" said David annoyed.

"Oh, that explains it. Rabbit from a human... Oh! You mean like the rabbit of the moon?" The rabbit pointed up at the moon. "Yes, that's what we'll call you... moon-rabbit." It nodded.

"Moon.. rabbit? Uh, I guess," David sighed not really wanting to play this weird game with the strange animal. "I'll go get you some food. Mom did get me lots of carrots, I doubt I can eat all of it so... I'll just bring it out to you."

David quietly wondered back into the house. "This day just gets weirder and weirder..."
