The day progressed quite normally for the new sphynx-girl. She noted that everyone in general was being very nice and understanding to her. If anything, this world sure was polite to someone who suffered such a unique and difficult transformation, though she trusted Karyn far more then anyone else. Still she's had a door open by many students and teachers, trying to be polite and help her out. At first this was a little nerve-wracking and a blow for her feeling of independence... she didn't like being treated like she was 'crippled'. After a while, she grew to enjoy it as part of the way this world was.
While in the cafeteria, Jon looked about the other students. This world was so strange. Most people didn't look changed, it was still a world filled with 'mostly' humans. Occasionally one would be seen with a minor change, much like Karyn and Sarah. She was pretty surprised to see one teacher with what looked like a single horn on her head. Though of what animal, she wasn't sure. The school also placed greater emphasis on learning biology, and mythology. There seemed to be a new 'fusion' curriculum combining the two aspects in trying to understand the biology of mythical creatures. Not that many students had a mythological change exactly... Jon was quite unique in that, so far.
At the end of school, the time came to travel to this address. She boarded the bus with Karyn, and the two stared out at the window. More strange transformations greeted them... it was all so surreal.
"What have I done Karyn," she asked as she whispered to her. She sat curled next to her in the seat, her head brushing her lap.
The cat girl shrugged. "We can fix this Jon. We'll go to that address, and I'm sure things will be back to normal in a few days."
"...normal," Jon nodded. Still... there was something making her feel a little anxious about that. This whole situation, and this whole world was completely normal to everyone else. It was just herself and Karyn that knew this world was wrong. Relationships had been made and broken, entire histories altered by her wish. God, what if someone who changed had a child, and if the world changed back that child would no longer exist?
"If you did have the stone again, what would you wish for?" Asked Karyn curiously.
"Something simple. Maybe... I wish the common cold just made you sneeze." She said waving her tail a little.
"Do you think that would be allowed?"
"I don't know... maybe not. But I have to think of some way of changing things back. If history has been changed... what if we lost someone in the past? Or gained someone new? What am I supposed to do in that situation?" How was she to resolve the born and the unborn of this new world?
Karyn petted the sphynx gently. "Jon, you are worrying way too much about something you can't control. I wish I had an answer though..."
"Maybe that's what we should wish for," Smiled Jon. "An answer..." Something to fix this world, and make things normal again.
...still, a world in which people could talk- or even communicate with animals... did she really want to wish that away? Part of her found that really interesting. It could answer so many questions about life... or even understand nature, and the Planet Earth itself greatly.
it would be a shame to lose that.
