Carrie stood at the front of the classroom, her ears twitching with excitement. "For those of you who don't know me, Mine name is Carrie. I was a seven year old boy when I caught the cold. I know how hard it is to adjust to such a difference in life, but I know from experience that it can be done. It may take some time. I didn't change my name until I started High school. But the important thing to remember is that we're not trying to force you any which way. The choice is up to you, we're just here to help." Carie smiled and made quick eye contact with everyone in the room. Some looked away.

"Now, if my massive ears haven't failed me..." A smattering of laughter escaped the arranged individuals. They were all understandable nervous and the tension eased, just a little. "I do believe," Carrie continued, "that I hear our special guest coming down the hall."

The door opened. A young girl, maybe 11 or 12, walked into the room. Her hair was pulled into a no-nonsense bu and she wore a businesses suit. "Sorry I'm late, Carie. There was a new cop on the beat and he had to do the whole nine yards." While she may have looked young, her voice wasn't. Tones of age and education were present. The students, unconsciously, sat a littler straighter in their chairs. This preteen had an air of authority about her.

"This is my grandfather," a whisper ran through the crowd " Doctor Kenneth Johnson. I was named for him. Then about 2 months apart, we caught the cold. My change you can see. His takes a little more explaining. He does, however, Hold doctorates in Biology and Chemistry, and a Masters in Transformational Studies, before the Bubble Burst. He's here to answer any questions you may have. Grandfather?" Carrie nearly hoped to her seat as Ken opened his briefcase, removing a small step-stool. He set this in front of the chalkboard checked the height, the spun around. "Right. Thank you, my dear. Now, are there any questions?"
