Sarah McMillan woke up to a much larger room than she remembered, and dread filled her as she sat up in a large bed, for the first time in forever feeling no hair on her shoulders or face. A small probing hand revealed that she did have hair, but it was very short and didn't feel much like hair at all. It felt more like...

She jumped down, running into the bathroom in a panic, and screamed in an unfamiliar voice at the sight that awaited her. Her skin was green with a sort of soft texture, patterned much like leaves, and her eyes were the amber of tree sap. On top of her head was leafy-looking hair, and the most terrifying part of all was that she was a boy. No older than ten, if she had to guess. But wait... she pulled her oversized nightgown up, looking at a slit between her little boy legs which looked exactly like hers once had, even with leafy hair in the shape of the "landing strip" she'd shaved. Sarah McMillan was a little Dryad boy with a vagina.

She heard a sharp gasp behind her as her mom ran into the bathroom, and quickly pulled her into a hug, mumbling, "Oh, Sarah, what has happened to you?" Sarah just stayed silent, afraid to cry as her mom was, because who knew what would come out? She forced back a shiver of disgust as she melted into her mother's embrace, listening to her laments. Eventually, she let go, standing back up and regaining her composure. "You've still got to go to school, young lady. I'm sure your little brother won't mind giving you some of his clothes for now. I'll take you and inform the school of what's happened."

"But Mom! I can't go to school like this! What will everyone think?!" Sarah protested, flinching at her new voice, and thinking already that Mom wouldn't listen.

She was right. "Nonsense. I'm sure your friends will get used to it, and they'll support you. I know they will."

No they won't. Sarah thought miserably, knowing at that moment that her social life was as good as over.
