Jon suddenly knew what made it all happen
'And wish that Word® could check grammar so I can get rid of that clipit bastard' said the screen in what was text that resembled dos operating systems text.
"Wait how did you hear what I said?" asked Jon.
The words 'You wish for me to be able to hear' appeared on the screen.
"What? No I haven't."
'Not yet'
"That makes no sense!"
'It is a catch twenty two.'
"What? What's a catch twenty two?"
'Do you mean you want me to define what a catch twenty two is or that you want to know what I am making a reference to when I say that it is a catch twenty two?'
"Both."
'A catch twenty two is what a situation is called when there are two actions and both are the cause of the other, like setting up two dominos and saying the first knocked over the second because the second knocked over the first. As for what the catch twenty two I was making reference to, some time in the future you will turn my power off so that I can not hear you and make two wishes, the first will be that I can hear and the second will be to give me intelligence so I can talk to you like I am right now. Since I will be off and will not be able to hear you it will be as if I had been able to hear and had intelligence since I was first powered up.' Said the screen before continuing. 'At first it was just child like in nature, but I kept absorbing information from the internet and over the last few months that you have owned me I have learned much about the world and could likely help you with nearly any question that you ask. By the way, you will have to make the wishes, after all a wish can not be unwished and I am proof that the wish will take place.'
"So you can hear me, talk to me, and talk back because I am going to wish for you to be able to some time in the future. Than the effect traveled back in time because it needed to be as though it was always the way I wished because you didn't hear me make the wish?" Asked Jon still slightly confused to say the least. "Wait, how do you know about the wish if you didn't hear it?"
'It is the only logical conclusion that can be drawn from the facts. Also I know about the wishing rock because you read the letter from your grandfather out loud when you got it.' Stated the screen.
"So you guessed." Karyn said.
'You might call it that. Regardless of how I came about my information I recommend that you make the four wishes that you sent your selves messages from the future about and than send the messages back to the past so that you will know what wishes to make.'
"What?" both Karyn and Jon asked feeling horridly confused about everything that had happened.
'Just trust me and yourselves and read what I show you in quotes out loud while holding the stone.' Appeared on the screen followed by 'Karyn should hold the stone and say "I wish that I could redefine what the word big in my previous wish meant so that I could have control over the size of my boobs." Than Jon should take the stone and say "I wish that I would always know weather or not a wish was granted for sure as soon as it was wished. I wish that all the wishes that are made would have a default time limit of thirty minutes unless otherwise specified." Than either one of you should say "I wish that the three wishes that were posted as replies to the question that Karyn posted online last night that were used to make actual wishes would appear at the times that they were recorded as appearing in the past and that the message that flashed on the computer screen and than printed would be flashed on the computer screen at the time in the past when I remember it happening and than print."
"I guess it's right, or at least I don't see any harm in making those wishes" Said Jon handing the stone to Karyn "and there is a lot of benefit."
