Chris watched as the thin tornado ripped through the countryside. It was amazing. He could make clouds, rain, snow, sleet, hail, wind, and even tornadoes. Anything weather-related.
He pointed at the tornado and it disappeared. There were no worries about anyone getting killed, though, as it was only spinning around in a farm field. But still ... Chris shouldn't have been creating something so deadly as a tornado at all. It's just that he got kind of a rush out of making all of these things happen.
"I could be a superhero. You know, the real thing," Doug daydreamed, lying on his back and staring at the stars in the sky.
"Snap out of it," Kevin said. "This is real life. Not a comic book."
"Why couldn't it be?" Doug asked, turning towards his friend. "I mean, this stone makes me indestructible. That's just like having a super power. Right?"
"Only if you're holding it. If I wanted, I could use it too," Kevin pointed out. "Anyone could use it."
"Okay, yeah. But does that make it any less of a super power?"
Kevin looked oddly at his friend, then tried to go to sleep. They'd have to get up really early the next morning, like around 4 AM.
Hart sniffled a couple more times, then shook his head. His eyes burned. "Fucking bitch!" He stood up and searched for her. Of all the stones to have, she just happened to have one of the psionic ones. But, of course, the more difficult the hunt, the more satisfactory were the spoils.
Rachel pulled Ashley into one of the stores and hid. A few minutes later, they saw the man with the gun walking past the store. He was looking for them.
Rachel gave her friend the shush gesture and they both held their breath until the man passed by. When he was out of sight, they exhaled.
"Who was that?" Ashley whispered.
"I don't know. But he wanted this," Rachel said, showing her friend the purple stone.
"A stone?"
"It's not just any stone. It allows me to change people's moods."
"You're kidding," Ashley said, not believing.
"Don't you remember when you became scared all of a sudden?"
"You did that?"
"Yeah. But it was an accident. I didn't mean to."
"Where did you find it?"
"In my attic, at home. It must have been up there for years."
"Come out, you fucking bitch!" they heard the man yell. "There's nowhere you can hide!"
Rachel and her friend suddenly fell silent. They didn't want him to find them.
