Bryan Hart looked down at the scanner and smiled. "Got me another one," he said. He pressed his foot down on the gas pedal and his pick-up truck roared down the road.
He was a stone hunter. He had been one all his life. It was sort of a family thing. But just a month ago, after many years, he finally located one. It belonged to an old man. George Gibson was his name. He tried to get it, but the old man was more elusive than he looked, and the stone disappeared. But just a few days ago, the stone turned up again. And Hart was on his way to pick it up.
The things was, the stone the old man had wasn't like the other stones. It acted almost like a magnet, attracting other stones to its location. This probably had something to do with the fact that it was a wishing stone, the most powerful of them all. Once Hart got his hands on it, he wouldn't have to hunt for the other stones anymore. He could just wait and have them come to him.
On his way to the town in which the wishing stone now was, his stone detector showed that another one was in the immediate area. It looked like it was off-road, in the forest. He wouldn't be able to drive his truck there, he'd have to go by foot. He wondered if maybe it would be better to just grab the wishing stone first, then deal with the other stone later.
As he was wondering, another stone was detected. It was in the same town as the wishing stone. Hart smiled. "I've hit gold," he said, still driving towards the town, but now even faster.
