Sarah had searched Jon through the entire school, even neglecting her own meal, but couldn't find him anywhere. Finally, after half an hour, she determined he wasn't in the school anymore. She quickly grabbed a some food in the cafeteria and went to the gates, waiting for him.
She waited a long time, trying to stay alone as to not miss Jon if he came back. She was beginning to doubt he would come back, but 10 minutes before lunch break ended, she finally saw him come back with Karyn.
"There you are!" She said as she began walking toward them. She could see Jon stop and back up a few step, but Karyn got between the two of them. It didn't matter as she just needed Jon to hear her, and Karyn couldn't block out sound.
However, before she could give John a choice, Karyn interrupted her. "Why are you doing this? Do you really need to use your power on Jon?"
"Of course I do!" Responded Sarah instinctively. "This power is meant to change Jon, and I'll change him a lot." This answer seemed weird even to her, but once again, her worries were immediately stifled by her compulsion to change Jon.
"Do you even hear yourself? You're acting weird!" Karyn pleaded, she half expected something like that from what Jon told her, but it still shocked her a little how little awareness Sarah seemed to have about it.
While they argued, Jon made up his mind... He knew he couldn't run away from this one, so he decided to make the most of it.
"Sarah!" He interrupted them. "I know I won't get away this time, and I won't try... But I have a condition."
"Jon! What are you doing?!" Karyn asked in a panicked voice, but Jon just gave her a small smile.
"You know I'm in control, right?" Sarah stated, ignoring Karyn. "I don't have to accept your condition. And even if you got away now, you would just be delaying it."
"I know I can't force you into anything, but I'm hoping you will listen to me."
"Well? What's your 'condition'?" Sarah asked with a bit of ridicule in her voice. "I'll see if I want to do it or not."
Jon smiled internally, he was prepared for her to completely ignore him, so this was already a small victory. "I want you to never affect Karyn's mind with a change. So that she always remembers how I am right now."
"Jon..." Karyn began, but Jon stopped her before going back to Sarah.
"So? What do you say?"
