Teen Angel

Jon and Karyn hung around at the mall for a few hours. As they wandered around, looking at the different shops, Jon spotted something in one window. "Hey," she said, "come look at this!"
In the window was an intricately-crafted angel figurine.
"Oh, nice," Karyn said. They both looked at the figure for a couple minutes.
"Hey..." Jon muttered, fishing around in her purse.
Karyn whirled around. "Wait!" she snapped. Jon looked at her curiously. "What?"
"I know what you're thinking," Karyn said. "Don't do it yet, and give me a minute to explain a couple things before you do."
Jon looked confused. "Okay, I guess," she said. "But if you're done here, I'm ready to go home and try it out."
Karyn agreed, and they made their way back to Jon's house. Jon plunked her purse down on her bed, pulled out the stone, and said, "Okay, what was it you wanted to explain?"
"I know you want to try that 'angel' idea you had," Karyn said, "but you're going to have to be very specific. Otherwise we may wind up with someone else's definition of 'angels.'"
"What do you mean?" Jon asked.
"Well, most people have the same basic idea of what one is, but there's really a number of different definitions. Many have them as not being physical beings, and many also don't think they have free will. Ergo, since those are things we'd want to avoid, you'll need to come up with a suitable definition of your own when you make your wish. 'Kay?"
"Okay," Jon said, thinking hard...
