I punched in Suzie's name and got her location easily. She was only a few blocks from where I was, so I braced my nerves and headed for the door out. The blinding light of the mid afternoon sun made me close my eyes and look down. What realism! I squinted and started to look around, finding myself in a fantastic, medieval style city. A huge castle was a few blocks away on my left, but I couldn't really look that far in any other direction because of the tightly placed buildings right beside me.
There were dozens of other players here on the street, some talking, some sitting and reading at tables across the street from me, some walking this way or that. I bumped into an older looking man with an owl on his shoulder as I gawked at a pair of gladiator looking types sparring in a small cleared courtyard not a hundred feet down the road. His owl screeched loudly as he dropped one of the little sacks he was carrying.
"Crak Crak Pop!" went the contents of the bag as a wisp of purplish smoke seeped out from it's burlap material.
"SKULLS and BONNETS WENCH! WATCH WHERE YOU'RE GOING! Those eggs cost me more than you'll make in a week!"
"Oh, I'm very sorry!" I squeaked with an undeniably cute and apologetic voice. I bent over to pick the bag up.
"Never mind! They're no good with the shells cracked!"
"I'm so sorry. I wasn't..."
"You told me you are sorry already! Will you cost me my time mumbling worthles apologies as well as the price of those eggs?" The old man turned around abruptly with a second screech from his owl, and walked back the way he had come from.
It was then I started to grow very self conscious. The whole street had noticed what had happened, and many had stopped to watch. A few players held their own MAPS in their hands now and pressed buttons on them, looking at me and then back at their MAPS.
I really began regretting rushing into this world now. I felt my soft skin get goose-bumpy as a breeze blowed through my long curly hair and across my bare shoulders and legs. "Time to get out of here fast and over to Suzie." I thought to myself, and I started walking.
I hadn't gotten more than ten steps when I felt a hand on my shoulder!
