John looked good. Not as good as Karyn, but for his age he looked very good. He was 21. He had been alive for 27 years, but he was still 21. He had made a wish to make it so. Every year it was the same. He and Karyn were dating, on the verge of marriage, happy, well most of the time, they had been together for many years, and at this point were starting to act like an old couple if they didn't watch it. Still it was a good age to be stuck in, at least for the sex anyway.
The door bell rung, It was his older sister Zoe. Zoe was now 24, and also on the verge of marriage, she had moved on from her goth phase a long time before and now was working in the music industry. She had kept aging, life had continued to move on for her, to the point were she was now the older sibling and he was the younger. She would stop by and give sisterly advice on dating Karyn, it was strange but it was also the way it was and after a couple of years it became normal to be stuck in time like this.
Zoe was coming over to help baby sit.
Three years before they tried to have a kid, and it worked rather well. It made sense at the time, they had been together for ten years and in their minds were 24 they were ready to have a kid. So they did, and on May 31st 2017 they had a baby boy named Oscar, after Jon's grandfather who had given the rock. This was normal at first but as time went on things changed. The child aged but they didn't. So that by now it was thought that Karyn and Jon had the kid as a teen pregnancy when she was 18. Still they loved and took care of the child as best they could.
The world moved on without them. Their peers went from being people who played with GI joe and Strawberry shortcake, to Poke'mon and Pogs.
Jon held the best jobs he could, becoming very skilled, but because of his age he hit a glass ceiling of success, he could only climb so high, not high enough to be an adult, but high enough to just get by.
Karyn had taken this as a challenge and over the years started a clothing line from home, which became bigger and bigger, she got partners and a store front and eventually it went world wide. Forever 21, was the thing to wear for teen girls in the 2000's and 2010's but she only was part of it for a little bit of it, eventually time moved on and while it stayed a part of history that forever 21 opened it's doors in may of 2009, she was too young to have been a part of it by the time that 2014 came along, and it just became another department store, owned and run by her partners.
together they watched as time moved on, their child got older, soon Zoe was the much older sister, then the aunt, then the great aunt, then the old lady they visited in the nursing home. When Oscar was 9, he the product of a shameful early teen pregnancy of 13, when he was 10 he became their adopted son, and by the time he was 16 he was just a kid they were helping in the boys and girls club, on and on this went till he was just a friend they knew, and eventually he faded out their lives, a different person, still raised by them, though he could never know it.
They were part of the youth revolts in the 2030's a result of the debts piled on the younger generations from there parents, with whom they shared a birth year. They watched the world age, but they never did, and never would. They lived a life of 210 years, and then on the verge of the second cyber war, killed each other in a love pact. They were 21 at the time.
