"Where are you going?" asked Suzie.
"I have to go to the dance hall and dance," I answered. "I don't know why. I just have this compelling urge to go back there. Please help me," I begged.
"It must be time for your character to perform," replied Suzie. "While in that form you'll be required to follow your character's story, and apparently she has to dance now."
"But Suzie, I don't know how to dance, let alone dance like a woman."
"It doesn't matter. The computer will take over for as long as your character is needed for the story."
"Isn't there something you can do?" I said. I was already on the other side of the room, near the door.
"I'm sorry," she said, as I left the building.
My avatar was on autopilot. I had no control over my movements. For the time being, though, I seemed to still be able to speak, at least.
Well, that is, until I called for a cab to take me back to the dance hall. I tried desperately to tell the cab driver something different, but it was no use. The computer really had taken over my avatar.
And after about five minutes, I arrived at the dance hall.
