"Everything's gone!" exclaimed Jon.
"What's going on?" said Karyn. "Those things in the cheese said something about the Berlin Wall... and then everything went backwards. I bet we travelled in time! That's why nothing's here. They haven't built anything. I wish I knew what year it is..."
"It's 1989," said a voice out of the air.
"We're stranded," said Jon. "Wait, we can use the stone to get back to the future."
"But..." said Karyn. "You know, I think we should wait here."
"Wait here?"
"Yes, wait here, rest a few days, think about what to do... because all that stuff is in the future. There's no evil Sarah around, no magic items except the stone and necklace. It doesn't matter whether you're Jon or Sarah, or I'm Karl or Karyn... nobody's heard of us anyway. We don't have to go to school and act like people we're not. We can take as long as we want to figure out what to do, and return to the exact same moment we left."
"Interesting idea," said Jon. "Unless we're arrested for being bums. Vagrancy. Let me have the stone, please?"
"Okay," said Karyn, "but remember, it belongs to both of us!"
Jon took the stone and said "I wish that there's a mansion where Sarah's parents have a mansion in the future. I wish that us two are living in it and that all the records say we really own it and are rich enough to afford it."
Instantly, the two were seated in a luxurious living room. A screen had been lowered, and there was a projection TV playing static.
"Not bad," said Jon. "A lot better than my place. But I was expecting a plasma TV."
"Silly, they haven't invented those yet. Besides, you're really Sarah. This is your place. Or at least it will be, if Sarah's parents ever come by and buy it from us. Now, why don't we go rent a movie and watch it as Karl and Sarah? Just change your body and not your mind, and we can make it temporary if you want to be Jon later."
"Well...."
