Jon was about to run, but before he could, Allison had a hold of him. Then he tried to struggle free, but it was no use. For a girl, Allison was pretty strong. But he supposed that the cheerleaders needed to be physically fit to do all those flips and cartwheels and such.
Nicole approached and forced Jon's mouth open, then she put the drop of the substance on his tongue and made him swallow it.
Jon closed his eyes. As long as he kept his eyes shut, he wouldn't fall in love with anyone. Maybe he could still run away, but it would be difficult knowing where he was going if he couldn't see. He didn't have very many options here.
Suddenly, Jon had the impulse to sneeze. Oh no! It's happening! The potion is affecting me! he yelled in his head. He could feel his eyes opening. No! I have to fight it! I have to keep my eyes shut!
But it was no use. And a few seconds later, Jon opened his eyes.
