Jon reached into the pouch and pulled out the yellow ring. He smiled and thought about who test the Bimbo ring on. After a moment of consideration he decided that everyone deserved a chance. Jon slipped the ring on his finger and concentrated...

Across the room Jessica Davis listened with a smile as her friend Kelsey told her about the new shoes she found over the weekend. Jessica laughed a little as Kelsey let slip an 'OMG' and shook her head. Kelsey could come off as a ditz when she was excited, but Jessica had known her for years and knew she had a good head on her shoulders.

"And so then I, like, went to the next store and found the bestest belt ever, it totally went with the shoes and stuff," Kelsey rambled on before pausing with a somewhat vacant smile.

Jessica's smile faded slightly, this seemed a little too Valley Girl for Kelsey. "Sorry Kels, what store did you find the belt at?"

"Oh, like, the big one with all the stuff! Um, and I guess with the totally hard to remember name," Kelsey replied with a giggle. "Duh, like the big store at the Crosstown Mall!"

Jessica frowned, "You mean Macy's?"

Kelsey nodded blankly, then stopped and frowned. "Nope, it's totally the other one."

"The Gap? You couldn't remember the name of the Gap?" Jessica started to really worry about her friend. Kelsey just nodded and giggled. In fact she had not stopped giggling. This was not like her, something was wrong. Kelsey reached over, still giggling, and flipped Jessica's hair. Jessica laughed at the absurdity of her friend, not realizing as her laugh turned into a giggle matching Kelsey's. Mr. Green shushed the two giggling girls, causing them to stop for a moment before bursting into more giggles.

Jessica smiled at Kelsey, had something been wrong? She couldn't remember and thinking was hard anyway. She started preening for the guys who were sitting close. She had to look her best after all.

Caleb Banks bobbed his head to the beats coming through his iPod. He glanced over at Zeb, sleeping as usual. Caleb pulled out a sharpie and started drawing skulls on his knee through his torn jeans. He preferred spray paint for his artistic medium, but recognized that sharpies were considerably less conspicuous. He watched other kids leaving for the library and wished he could get a pass to go out to the parking lot with the skateboard in his locker.

Something seemed wrong. Caleb grimaced at the harsh music in his ears. He had an odd urge to listen to that crappy Pop music they play on the radio. What did they call it? Bubblegum Pop? At that thought he reached into Zeb's bag and pulled out some gum. Caleb popped it into his mouth as he searched through his iPod, but nothing seemed right. Then he found some Phish music Zeb put on there, it wasn't usually his style, but it would have to do.

Caleb chuckled, though it was closer to a giggle, as he leaned back, smacked his gum, and went back to drawing flowers on the back of his hand.

Jon slid the yellow ring off his finger and watched as the skater punk Caleb shook off the effects and spit out his gum. Now that he knew more about what the rings were capable of he could control the effect better. Maybe now he could control a combination of rings better, or try out one of the other rings yet to be tested. He reached back into the pouch...
