“I say that it sounds like a good idea.” Rebecca offered, trying to push the situation.

Linda looked thoughtful for a moment. Her kids never offered to help around the house, and on the occasions that they did when she asked, they usually did it with a moan or some kind of complaint. But this time? Jon actually seemed genuine about his offer, so Linda decided to play along and took her son upon it.

“Ok, sweetie, go ahead. I’ll just be here watching some tv while you cook.” Jon nodded and smiled before he headed to the kitchen.”

Rebecca watched the interaction with a smile, knowing that her plan was already set in motion. She stretched before standing up.

“Well, I think that my job here is done,” Rebecca announced. “Now how about we talk about scheduling?”

“Oh? Yes, of course.” Linda replied standing up as well.

“I offer a range of schedules,” Rebecca began, taking a form out of her bag. “Most clients prefer twice a week visits, but I can also arrange a weekly visit or even a bi-weekly. Now after an initial assessment, I would suggest the first option but of course, it’s entirely up to you.”

Linda took the form that Miss Fine had offered and pondered her options. Their last cleaner, Mrs Watson operated on a once a week basis, but part of that was because she was older and nearing retirement.

Miss Fine, however, was young and appeared eager. The friend who had suggested Miss Fine’s services had commented on how great she was and the fact that she came by twice a week meant that her friend had a lot more free time, which seemed nice.

“I think that I’ll take the twice a week option,” Linda told the woman, signing the form and handing it back to her. Miss Fine smiled.

“Marvellous. So I’ll see you at the same time on Thursday?” She offered.

“That sounds fine.” Linda nodded and Miss Fine handed her an appointment card which had her contact details and the date of their next appointment.

Linda showed Miss Fine out of the house.

I wonder how Jon is getting on?” She thought as she decided to pop her head into the kitchen.
