“Oh, hello again Jon. I was just finishing up in Mikey’s room.” Rebecca lied. “I think that I’m about all done here for today.”
“Already?” Jon asked in surprise, he looked at his watch. If she could be done this quickly then she must be good. Jon made a mental note to suggest her services to his friends. Jon decided to follow Miss Fine downstairs.
“All done Linda,” Miss Fine announced. Luckily for Rebecca, Linda had just finished all of the dusting and had collapsed back on the sofa feeling exhausted, although she couldn’t pinpoint why.
“That was fast,” Linda remarked. Jon and Rebecca joined her in the living room.
“I told you that I was good didn’t I?” She paused as Linda tried to remember her saying that. Slowly, she nodded.
“Yes, I think that you did.” Linda yawned. “Boy, suddenly I’m exhausted, although I can’t think why. I haven’t done anything except sit here while you’ve cleaned, Rebecca.”
Rebecca smiled and nodded.
“Maybe you’ve just had a busy day at work, and it’s only just hitting you.” She suggested. To Linda’s surprise and Rebecca’s satisfaction, Jon piped up.
“If you’d like mom, I could take care of dinner for you.” Linda looked shocked.
“Are you sure Jon? Do you know what you’re doing?” Jon nodded.
“Sure, I’ll do something easy, like spaghetti. How does that sound?” Linda looked over to Rebecca who merely nodded.
“And,” Jon added. “If I have any trouble, I can ask Zoe to help.”
“I say that it sounds like a good idea.” Rebecca offered.
