"It's allright, Karyn. Sure, you're a Genie. Stuck in a bottle. Wearing a really skimp . . . pretty costume." Karyn looked at her new self in a mirror. Her blonde hair that she used to hate so much was now long and wavy. A pointed ear poked through the strands, so much like an elf's. Karyn's bra was a sand colored garment that was both simple and very comfortable. A copper vest also covered her torso but left her slender but toned arms bare. A series of clasps ran down the front, allowing Karyn to cover up a little if she so desired.

Her legs weren't covered, exatly. She wore sand colored panties and a long and copper skirt. The skirt, however, had been cut into four seperate pieces, both revealing and hiding her bare legs. Karyn wore copper curly-toed slippers over her feet.

"See, Karyn, being a Genie isn't so bad. Jon will let you out soon, and everything's going to get better, you'll see. I'll grant him his three wishes and all, and then . . . what happens to me after Jon makes his wishes?" Karyn turned to the mirror again, only to find that it had disappeared. But a book lay on the floor in it's place. It was brown and it's cover was engraved with the word Genie.

"Interesting." She lifted the book off the ground and wondered a bit. "I think I want a cheeseburger." Nothing happened. "A bed?" Suddenly, glittering dust spun around Karyn. In a moment, there was a large tassled pillow, big enough for three people to lay on, right in front of her. "Hmmm. How about a couch?" The same effect happened, and a semi-circular couch rested where the bed had been.

"How convienient." She sat down on the sand colored couch, drew her legs up, and began to read her guide on Genie's. She was amazed at what she learned. Everything Hollywood seemed to teach her about Genie's seemed to be wrong. In some ways, that was good, in others ways, it was bad. She was both more free and less free than she had thought.

Karyn was too engrossed in her book that she never noticed the passage of time. Her fear melted away. Everything seemed right again. Now that she knew her abilities and her limitations, Karyn was secure in her Genie-dom.

But then the lamp shook. Karyn brook herself from her study. Glittering dust began to swirl around the lamp, moving faster and faster. but Karyn wasn't afraid. She knew what was about to happen. She looked at her body and saw it break down into the same glittering dust and became one and the same with the storm. Then like a hurricane Karyn flew out the lamp's spout and exploded into the world once more.

She reformed standing on her feet with a large smile on her face. Karyn was so glad she could finally test her powers.

Her first master, too, was glad to see Karyn . . .
