"Trent huh?", Amber said wryly,"You think it's wise to give the puppy a bone?"
"What?" came Holly's voice from Sam's words.
"He's been hung up on you for years... Look, he's a sweet heart. I know he cares about you. But, you've never showed any interest and I don't think it is right to use him as a transitional... but what do I know?"
"We're just good friends. I mean... we agreed to pose as a couple for a little while so.... I could get over..." Sam corrected himself.
"Whose idea was that?!"
"Uhm.. his."
"Be careful Holly. Trent may be more clever than I thought."
"I trust him. He knows I don't want to be really involved. Trust me."
"Sure." Amber laughed, "Whatever you say. It wouldn't be the worst mistake you've ever made. Great ass!" she roared.
"Let's not talk about this for now." Sam pleaded exhausted by the train of the conversation.
"Okay," she said pulling out a business card "This evening wasn't a total bust though. I got us a modeling gig this Saturday. Shots for our portfolios!"
"You've got to be kidding."
"No baby, we got spotted walking in."
"I can't. I mean..."
"You can and you will. You promised me you would if I made the deal. Deal made. Promise sealed. End of story."
Sam, had no solid arguments without revealing the situation. Shortly after they made their way home.
"Next time we'll do this on a night we don't have to get up early.See you in school tomorrow." Amber said after dropping her off.
Sam headed upstairs dreading what tomorrow would bring.
It's a school night
