Eventually Karyn came back in and walked the still-dazed Jennifer through getting dressed, then led her downstairs for supper. Jennifer sighed inwardly. Karyn was right; there really was nothing she could do about this. She wasn't going to just give in to femininity, but she would have to live with it. An entire year... she sighed. They ate some supper and spent the rest of the evening playing videogames. They wanted to stay up later, but Jennifer's mom made them go to bed at 11, because tomorrow was a school day, after all.

"Jennifer?" Karyn whispered.
"Yeah?"
"Does anyone else know what's up? It didn't seem like your mom thought anything was out of the ordinary."
Jennifer shook her head. "No. I was worried about that, so I specified that for the duration of the effects only the people who saw the dice being rolled will remember the way things were. When everything goes back, their memories of this period will be altered to the closest equivalents in normal reality."
"Good." Karyn relaxed a little.
"Say," whispered Jennifer, "what do you think happened to people outside the town who have relatives in town?"
"I dunno." Karyn shrugged. "I expect any woman who has children in town who were transformed would have also been. Guys without any children who have siblings in town would also have been, presumably. I'm not sure about guys with children. Maybe they became their father's children from another marriage or something. Let's keep an ear out at school tomorrow and see if we pick up anything related to that."
"And what about visitors to town? I assume they transformed as well."
"Yeah, I suppose they did. Suffice to say, I think the repercussions of this go far outside our sleepy little hamlet." Karyn shifted around, trying to get comfortable. It wasn't easy to do when one had a tail to account for. Eventually, she found a nice position and they both drifted off to sleep.
