Aside from the strange underwear situation in his bedroom, Jon found that nothing had changed to the rest of his family. At least, as far as he could tell. Jon’s mom, Linda, was by the counter preparing some sandwiches.
“Morning sweetie.” She greeted Jon with a smile. “Sleep well?” Jon just shrugged in response and sat down. Jon reached over for the box of cereal that Mikey had been using and as he did so the movement caused Jon’s shirt to ride up a little, exposing his boxers. Something that his mom noticed.
Linda frowned and folded her arms. Oh dear, she thought I hope that they’re not one of his boyfriends. While Linda didn’t exactly approve of her son’s choice of underwear (She thought that they were a bit showy), she didn’t approve of him wearing what were typically boys underwear. Not that she found anything odd about the fact that Jon was in fact, a boy.
“Jon honey, whose boxers are those? I know that they’re not yours.”
Uh oh, Jon thought. Had his mom somehow figured out that he had a wishing stone? And that he had wished up his current pair of boxers? If so, how? Thanks to the stone, his mom shouldn’t have spotted the new underwear.
“I hope that they’re not one of your boyfriends,” Linda asked, hoping that they weren’t. Jon was taken aback, surprised by his mom’s question.
“What…?” Jon stammered. “I don’t have a boyfriend.”
“Yeah, I think that the whole school knows that bro.” Jon’s sister laughed as she entered the kitchen and sat down.
Jon was confused. He knew that this was because of his wish last night but what exactly was happening? His underwear had changed into thongs and panties and now his family seemed to think that he had lots of boyfriends.
“I…uh…” Jon paused, trying to work out an explanation but nothing would come. “I’ve got to go and meet Karyn.” Jon finished his breakfast as fast as he could, grabbed his school bag and rushed out of the door.
“Well, that was a little defensive.” Linda remark to Zoe, who merely nodded. “I was just curious.”
