"Rachel, what happened to you?" asked Michael, the driver of the car.
"Nothing happened to me," answered Rachel, the one who had become a Goth.
"But, you've changed."
"No. I'm the same as I've always been." She walked over to Will and sat down next to him on the large rock.
"Rachel?"
But she didn't answer back.
Michael turned back to Fred. "I can't believe this is happening." He took out his cell phone.
"Who are you calling?" Fred asked.
"My dad. He's a county cop."
About ten minutes later, two county police cars showed up. One of the officers got out and walked over to the convertable with the three confused teens inside. "Michael? Are you okay?"
"Yeah, Dad. I'm fine."
"What's this all about?"
Michael told him what had happened. So did Fred. Michael's dad was a bit skeptical, though. After speaking with them, he walked over to where Rachel had changed into a Goth and he stopped. He paused for a moment and then stuck his arm out in front of him. In disbelief, he watched as his hand and arm transformed into something else. His "new" hand was much paler and had black nail-polished fingernails and his "new" sleeve of his shirt became some sort of black fishnet nylon material. He immediately yanked back his arm and it became normal again.
This wasn't a joke. It was really happening.
