Karyn sat in the library, digesting everything that had happened within the last 24 hours. She had seen two boys transformed into girls, one into a busybody Honors Student and the other into an outright slut. An earlier confrontation with Sarah Trenton had clued Karyn into the fate of Sarah MacMillan. Rumors concerning the promiscuity of the cheerleading squad has spread like wildfire as all of them had been exposed as pregnant practically over night, and she had seen the Vice Principal transformed into a chihuahua.
And at the center of all this was her friend Jon, the now rich boy Jon, the person with the power of God in the palm of his hand. Karyn was worried.
She found it hard to reconcile the feeling that she knew the outcome of this rampant wishing would be horrible with her personal bias against those who had been affected thus far. So far, with the exception of a couple of cheerleaders, everyone that Jon had altered had been far from innocent. Bart Stevens and Clyde MacGruder, now Barbi and Claudia respectively, had been bullies for as long as she could remember. Sarah MacMillan was a Grade A bitch, and the Vice Principal had been an asshole. Essentially, she had no guilt over what had happened to them.
Nevertheless, she wanted to figure out more of what was happening here. She had retreated to the library to try and find anything on any sort of magical stones from South America. According to Jon's grandfather, the stone was Incan in origin, but so far nothing Karyn had found had shown that the Incas would have any use for such an artifact.
However, she was on to one lead. She had come across an even older civilization in the same relative area to the Inca. They were called the Moche, and though little was known about them, they seemed to revel in the suffering of others and drew religious strength from it. Karyn had a hunch that a culture like that would be more apt to create the stone moreso than the Incas.
She was about to go to the computers and look up more about the Moche, when she noticed that everything in the room had stopped. She stood up, walked over to a couple of individuals who were about to run into each other, and they were frozen in midstep. She looked around, knowing this was the handywork of only one person.
"Jon, where are you?" Karyn asked, quickly getting her answer as Jon popped up his head from behind a bookcase.
"Hey Karyn," Jon answered with a smile on his face. He walked over with his hands in his pocket, seemingly without a care in the world. "I thought we could have some fun."
"I think you've had enough fun changing people and "serving justice" for one day Jon," Karyn replied.
"Oh I'm not talking about that kind of fun, at least not as it concerns anyone else." There was a hint of a malevolent glint in Jon's eyes. Karyn suddenly felt a wave of pleasure come over her, blowing across her like a stiff summer breeze.
"Jon, what are you..." all words were lost as another wave of pleasure came over her. Jon just smiled and walked over to her and held her chin up so that her eyes stared into his....and the fun would commence.
