Amber was still looking at the house they were about to enter when Jessica bumped into her and the rest of the girls followed en suite.
"Ouch, hey watch where you're standing still, loser." Brittany complained at Amber.
"I was just reading the sign above the doors. It's really weird." Amber pointed out.
"Yeah, it's a little creepy." Courtney agreed as she stood closer to it to be sure she was reading it right. "Girls coming inside will never be the same outside."
"What's that supposed to mean?" Alexis asked unsure.
Amber shrugged her shoulders." We'll just have to see." And with that she and the other girls stepped inside the house.
Amber couldn't see much inside. The place was pretty dark and smelled musty. The windows on the other side of the room were darkened by curtains. Suddenly a soft giggle could be heard from somewhere close, but she wasn't sure. At that moment the doors behind them closed up. Almost all girls screamed, except Amber. This was a classic horror movie intro, of which she had seen lots of.
Just as she wanted to run forward, the lights sprung on and ten girls were standing around them shouting: "Surprise!".
"Wow, we got them good this year Tess." A long lanky girl said to another girl with long blond hair.
"Yeah, well they still are dry. It wasn't as good as your introduction." Tess said to the girl with a wide grin.
"Shut up! I have a condition, well I used to." The lanky girl commented.
Amber heard this conversation while the other girls of her class were still talking to each other about what happened.
"Quiet, everyone, please!" The girl named Tess suddenly told them. The other girls of the sorority became quiet and with that the rest as well.
"Welcome new sisters to Beta Phi, the oldest and coolest sorority of Camwood University. Sorry for the prank but it has become somewhat of a tradition to scare our youngest sisters, so next time you can be in on it." Tess said with a wink.
"I so want to be in on it." Brittany said with a confident smile. Amber didn't want to point out, but Brittany screamed the loudest of them all.
"Glad to hear it, we always welcome girls to give our newest sisters a little scare." Tess told Brittany with a fake smile and followed it up with a wink to Amber.
"So now we get to the good part of the initiation ritual." At this point the other girls became a little giddy. Tess held up her hand and the other girls got silent again. Amber was wondering what crazy ritual they had to do when Tess showed an old piece of paper.
"This is something special, only the members of our fraternity know about this and have kept it a secret since the beginning. Our oldest sisters found it one day in the library after a a tiny prank gone wrong. They found a secret passage there that took them to a secret room where they found this piece of paper and initiated a ritual which we still keep today." As Tess looked at each of the girls expectedly with a serious face, she suddenly smiled. "It's a body switching spell."
Amber thought that she misheard that. What did she say?
"Excuse me, but did you say a body swap spell?" Alexis asked.
"Yeah, you heard me. A body swap spell. This piece of paper tells of a ritual to make two people switch bodies. It's awesome." Tess told the girls.
"I'm so out of here." Mia turned around and walked to the door trying to pull it, but she couldn't do it.
"I'm sorry, but we can't let you out. Only when you participate in the ritual you can leave this building." At that moment the other girls of Amber group began to panic. Amber was mildly impressed. First make it sound like a fun thing to do and then tell them they had no choice but to go through with it.
"Hey, what's your name?" Tess suddenly asked Amber.
"It's Amber." Amber told Tess still feeling a little uncomfortable.
"Well Amber, since you're the only one not complaining, how about we let you be the first one to swap?" Tess suggested to Amber.
"I-I don't mind." Amber told Tess. She still wasn't sure what to believe about this, but so what? Her parents didn't like her the way she was now, so why not give them someone else as a daughter.
"That's the spirit sister." Tess told Amber. "Okay, listen girls!" She shouted to the other girls of Amber's group. "Amber here has volunteered to be the first one to be swapped. Now I need a second volunteer. Who wants to?"
All the other girls were hesitant to raise their hands. "Okay, so I'll get to pick the next one. I will pick...."
