It was strange watching his entire family flitting about the house in perfectly matching skirt suits. His father was in the kitchen making tea, heels clicking back and forth on the linoleum. His mom was on the phone to her office, pushing back meetings and appointments. Zoe and Mikey had pulled up an ottoman and sat, hip-to-hip, with identical posture next to Jon on the couch. Mikey pulled the thermometer out of Jon's mouth and checked the reading, while Zoe placed the back of her hand on Jon's forehead.

"Well you don't have a fever, thank goodness," they said in unison.

"I'm telling you, I feel fine. It's..." Jon held his tongue.

"What?" Mikey asked.
"What is it?" Zoe continued. Jon knew they'd never believe him.

The doorbell rang, and his mother went to answer it. It must be Doctor Wilson. Jon hoped maybe he would see all the weirdness that was going on.

"I came as soon as I could, Jane. You sounded quite frantic on the phone," he told her, even though it had been Mikey who placed the call.

"I don't know what it is doctor." His father said as he came in from the kitchen holding a steaming mug. He handed it to Jon. "Drink that sweetie, it'll calm your nerves."

Mikey picked up the conversation with the doctor. "He just fainted... and was saying things that didn't make sense."

"Well, Mrs. Gibson, let's have a look." Mikey and Zoe stood up from the ottoman and Dr. Wilson sat in their place. He pulled a stethoscope from his bag and placed it on Jon's chest.

"Now, just breathe deeply." Jon took a few deep breaths, trying to cooperate. "Good," the doctor said. "Now, tell me how you're feeling, Jon."

"I feel fine doc. Don't you see what's going on? That's my brother, my sister, my father standing there. Can't you tell!?"

"Strange," Doctor Wilson mused,"What were those words you just said?"

"What? Brother, sister, and father?"

"What are those words, doctor?" Jon's dad asked, looking more and more worried.

"I don't know. Sounds like gibberish to me. Could be some form of aphasia, but the rest of his speech seems unaffected. You say this started this morning?"

"Yes doctor," Zoe said, "As soon as we saw Jon this morning he started talking like this."

"And he kept looking at us like I was someone else," his dad said.

"Well I don't know who else you'd be, Mrs. Gibson. You're the same lovely woman I've been looking after all these years." All of Jon's family blushed at the same time.

He turned to Jon. "You seem physically fine, my boy. I don't know what could be causing these... delusions. I recommend you rest right here until your head clears up. Okay, sweetheart?"

Sweetheart?! Since when had his doctor called him sweetheart? He looked down, noticing for the first time that the man was wearing a pair of black pumps, and his trousers were slowly creeping up his legs.

"Jon, honey, look at me!" The doctor said, worry creeping into his voice. Jon looked the man in the eye, only to see mascara and eyeshadow materializing on his face. "I don't know what's going on with you but you're going to be alright. We're your mother and we're going to take care of you, no matter what."
