"I wish that for the next ten minutes Karyn would think that she is a little girl and Jon is her father."
They looked at the screen, eagerly.
Karyn started to bounce up and down on the bed.
"Karyn, what are you doing?"
"Just playing, daddy," Karyn replied.
"Daddy? Karyn, what are you talking about?"
"Daddy, you're no fun. I want Mommy."
"Okay, Karyn. That's really funny. You can cut it out now."
But then Karyn began to cry, for what seemed for no apparent reason.
Jon was beginning to get scared. Was Karyn having some sort of mental breakdown here?
She leaned towards Jon and hugged him. Jon hesitantly hugged back. "Hold me, daddy." What was Jon gonna do about this? What would he say to her parents?
They sat like that for a few minutes until Karyn spoke up. "Daddy, I gotta go poopie."
"Uh, okay ... honey." He didn't want to aggravate her further, so he decided to play along, for now.
Jon took her hand and led her to his bedroom door. As he turned the door knob, Karyn let go of his hand.
"Jon? What are you doing? Why were you holding my hand?"
The ten minutes were up.
"You don't remember?"
"Remember what?" Karyn was clearly confused. But not quite as confused as Jon.
"You thought that I was ... well ... your father."
"My father?"
"Yeah. Maybe you should get some rest. You know, to relieve stress or something."
"You think I lost it or something?"
"Maybe. I ... I just don't know. It really freaked me out."
Back at the lab, Eric and Keith were laughing, having a good time with all this. Eric held the stone in his hand and said "I wish that for the next ten minutes Jon would think that he is a baby boy and Karyn is his mother. And I wish that during that same ten minutes, Karyn would breast feed Jon."
"Ha! This'll be good," Keith remarked.
On the TV screen, Jon was crawling around on the floor and Karyn was removing her bra to begin "feeding time".
