Zoe stood flabbergasted for a moment, before pulling out the stone. Jon flinched visibly, apparently afraid of what she might do.
"I wish I knew how mom's wishes were interpreted within the range limitation."
Again, her head was filled with knowledge. The stone had only switched the gender characteristics of people within a radius that roughly encompassed most of town, but it's effects were ongoing. The stone endeavoured to change things so they'd always been that way, so anything entering the stone's range would still change even after the wish. If people entered, they would change according to the wish. If the signal of a television show entered range, the show would change to match this reality. So the only way this would raise any alarms would be if someone left town or someone discovered the changes from just outside the stone's range.
And most importantly, that meant she still had time to think of a way out of the trap she'd inadvertently set for herself.
