Does it work?

Ted held the medallion's box so he could see it in true light.
"I've heard stories about this but I never dreamed I'd see it up close." Ted said as if to himself. "The Medallion of Zulu."
Ted took off his shirt and laid it on the ground. "I'll be needing that later. Mike, give me a piece of your clothes."
"You can't be serious." Mike laughed.
Ted stared intently, "We have to test it. Just give me something."
"Fine, here's my jacket."
Ted held up the jacket and the box. "Okay men, if this works there will be 2 Mikes for at least the next 12 hours. Ready?"
Doug piped in laughing "Wait, I'll film it. This should be funny Youtube material. The Un Magic Trick."
Ted shook his head and waited for Doug to point the camera.
Then he shook the medallion out of the box into his hand and touched the jacket to it.
The change began immediately. Ted winced and his face contorted. The features of Ted melted and he reformed as an identical copy of Mike.
When the transformation was done Ted was breathing heavily but there was otherwise a moment when no one spoke.
Kirby broke the silence. "Shit dude."
"Satisfied?" Ted said
The group all nodded silently.
"Someone hand me a mirror." Ted said impatiently.
"What should she look like?" Kirby asked.
"Who?" Jared replied.
"What we were talking about."
"We weren't being serious. It was all a joke. Who knew it could work?" Doug said.
"I think it's worth a shot." Jared interjected.
"Why not?" Kirby said with an explorers excitement. "What do you think Mike?"
"Maybe... I guess we could."
"Ted?"
"Uh yeah... whatever you want." Ted said staring at his reflection and the medallion in his hand.
"Okay, I guess it could work. I'm in." Doug said reluctantly.
"It's settled. Mike grab some paper. Let's design our girl." Kirby said.
The group sat down and talked about what they should make the girl look like. They planned out her class schedule and the bodily rotation plan.
