"Complete chaos. The United States doesn't exist, as well as some other countries. North America is part of something called The Faction. It would take too long for me to explain what The Faction is, but I'll tell you that it's not good. It's controlled by a dictator, of sorts, and ... well ... it's just like I said: it's like hell."
"That does sound bad. You know, maybe if we go back right now, instead of time travel to some other time, everything will go back to normal," Karyn suggested.
"Maybe."
"But ... should you come with us? I mean, then there'll be two of me."
"We can't just leave her here," Jon said. "That would be heartless."
"Okay, then. But, maybe we should go to a time just before we left. Maybe, we could stop ourselves from time travelling in the first place."
They nodded.
"I wish that the three of us would travel forward in time to before the time in which we left."
The landscape shifted a bit as they jumped into the future. Some of the trees were gone and there was a crude path running through the forest.
"Wait a minute! Karyn, this doesn't look right," Jon said.
