The snow crunched under their feet, and Jared was barely paying attention to Ben's words, or the hum of his sister's chatter on her cell-phone behind them...
"And I'm telling you, the game is only 30 bucks - probably because it's a Japanese Import..." Ben had been talking for a while about some video game that Jared could care less about.
"Wanna skip math and get some lunch at McDonalds today?" Jared replied, clearly changing the subject.
Ben nodded, and then trudged forward silently. He was about 5'7 with shoulder-length brown hair, and a less than athletic build.
"Hold on a sec, I'll ask..." His red-headed sister poked him in the ribs.
"I know Mom's going to be outta town tonight, will you tell on me if I stay the night at Susyns?"
Jared sighed.
"Whatever Jenny, as long as you don't get caught."
