That Sunday night after his party Jared read the note sceptically, and then shrugged. The medallion was nice, too bad about the fake note, his Mother had probably put it in there in a sad attempt to make him smile. 'Oh well' He thought to himself, and threw the box and note into the corner.
Jared sat down on his bed and flicked on the small t.v in his bedroom, he knew there wouldnt be anything on - but he wasnt exactly looking forward to Monday, it was cold in the morning and not exactly a treat to walk with his 16 year old Sister. Despite being only a year younger than him, they were very different people. She was a bit of a preppy girl, she played volleyball and did some cheerleeding or gymnatics, or something else that Jared had failed to care about. She also didnt resemble Jared very much either, and he had often wondered if she was adopted, with her red hair and brown eyes she was a total black sheep. Aside from all that, and possibly the most annoying thing, is that she would never shut up.
Jared flicked the television off and picked up the portable phone from his bedroom floor, he might as well give his friend Ben a call so he wouldnt have to endure his sister (Nicole) alone... 'Hell, he might even get a kick out of this Medallion' Jared thought to himself.
