"I have a great eagle Sorin that we can use. I grew him from an egg and he is completely loyal to me. I think it will be the fastest way to get there. I am tired of waiting for our engagement to be official. I want to help and we will be partners in this." Princess Fina spoke sincerely holding Sir Garrett's hand.
Sir Garrett lightly squeezed Fina's hand back smiling and said, "You lead and I will follow. I like the name by the way very clever. I am ready to go now so if you have what you need we will go."
"I packed a bag and hid it in the aviary. I knew my father would send you off on an another quest. I am going to make sure you return to keep your promise to me. So follow me." Fina spoke to Sir Garrett confidently as she twirled around and rushed off to the aviary. Sir Garrett followed her as she passed through the courtyard. They soon passed through the glass doors of the aviary.
As they opened the doors they felt the wind coming from the open passages to the outside for flying creatures to come and go. A menagerie winged creatures stood in cages looked after by attendants rushing about caring for them.
Guards came stomping in lead by the cruel Captain Burgos. "So, the great Sir Garrett has resorted to kidnapping the princess. This is high treason you know. I fear the King will look poorly on this. With no small amount of pleasure I say to you that you are under arrest in the name of King Emeril. Come quietly Sir Garrett you know I would hate to use force." A smiling Captain Burgos said. A tall square jawed man who was a jealous rival of Sir Garrett. Sir Garrett's successes cast a shadow over all the Captain's accomplishments in the capital. Now a chance to ruin Sir Garrett made the captain gleeful.
Guards marched in and circled around Sir Garrett and Fina. Sir Garrett saw the royal entering and knew the futility of fighting. He knew he could take out some but the risk to Princess Fina felt to great. They would overwhelm him eventually. He decided to surrender and explain to the King what was going on. Sir Garrett said, "I give myself into your custody with no resistance." Sir Garrett removed his gauntlets and put his hands out to be cuffed by one of the guards.
The a glint of relief went across Captain Burgos's face seeing this. He did not relish the thought of going against the skilled paladin before him. He knew with his guard's they could eventually take down Sir Garrett but the losses they incurred would reflect poorly on him. He caught himself and said, "A wise decision Sir Garrett perhaps it will get you some leniency from the King."
