Mr. Mabry taught history, one subject that had never really caught the interest of Jon and Karyn. Not even five minutes after the start of the class, Karyn was predictably asleep. Melanie, however, had a goal, and she saw her opportunity as soon as Karyn's head drooped and her breathing slowed.

Mr. Mabry was the type of teacher who spent all hour lecturing, always staring at his notes and not once looking up at the class, and Mel was thankful for this. Spotting the large lump in Karyn's small pocket, she reached forward and removed the stone, replacing it with a large wad of paper. With the stone back in her hands, she spent the rest of the hour planning how she would get back at Karyn for what she'd done to her.

After history, Karyn and Mel went to lunch, Karyn thinking about how much longer she'd let the-girl-formerly-known-as-Jon stew, Mel getting ready to make Karyn pay for what she'd done. As they sat down at their table, Karyn started speaking. "So, Mel, are you starting to see just how much harder it is to be a girl?"

Mel scowled at Karyn in response. "Yeah, it is a bit harder, but I still don't see anything about it that justifies you going mega-bitch on me." Karyn looked like she was going to explode.

"What?! Fine, why don't I take things up a notch?" As Karyn reached into her pocket, her look of rage was quickly replaced with one of fear.

"I don't think so. You made a big mistake, turning on your best friend like that. Well, it's true what they say. What goes around comes around."

"Mel, please! I'm sorry!" pleaded Karyn, nearly in tears just from thinking about what might happen to her.

"It's too late for that. I wish..."
