Kimberly didn't really want to baby sit, but knew that it was important to her mother. "I guess so, how hard can it be?"
Two hours later Kimberly was babysitting for the Adams's. They had two young children, the eldest three and the youngest but a baby. Kimberly followed Mrs. Adams as she told Kimberly what she needed to know about emergency numbers, where to contact them, the children's schedule, and one last thing.
"Elizabeth sometimes struggles to stop crying." Mrs. Adams explained about her youngest. "If she does and if she isn't hungry or messy, then she may want her passie." Mrs. Adams pointed to a pacifier. "There are rare occasions that she will not take her passie. Then I find that she will accept a breast instead. She has been good about accepting her passie for the past several weeks, but I think she may be getting ready to cut her first tooth. If she is, then she will be very fussy."
"I am sure I can handle everything just fine." Kimberly said. 'It can't be that hard.' She thought to herself.
Several hours later Kimberly had just managed to get both girls to sleep when Elizabeth started fussing. Working quickly as she didn't want Elizabeth to wake her sister, Kimberly picked up the baby and soon fond that she was both dry and full. But Elizabeth wouldn't take her pacifier.
After fifteen minutes of trying just about everything she could think of, Elizabeth was still crying.
'What should I do?' Kimberly wondered, then she remembered what Mrs. Adams had said.
'Should I?' Kimberly wondered. 'Can I?'
