"So. Quite a day, huh?"

Karyn looked at Jon like he'd just said there might be purple dancing men in the backyard.

"Okay, okay!" Jon held up his hands in mock surrender, "A really insane, messed up day! Especially for you!"

Karyn sighed. She was sitting on Jon's bed while he was at the desk, and was wearing a hoodie despite the warmth and the sun streaming in through the open window. She looked exhausted, and Jon could only sympathize. Technically the school day wasn't over, but Jon had decided to bail on his last classes to meet up with Karyn and discuss what had been going on. Abigail wasn't in her room, but that was just as well. He felt a bit conflicted about her, and he wasn't sure he'd want to see her right now, and he thought it'd be mutual with her. Or was it "him"? Jon quickly shut down that particular line of thought before the headaches started up again, and instead focused on Karyn's words.

"Insane and messed up sounds about right. I don't know who drew me, but going off the wishes so far, it's definitely a guy." Her eyes narrowed and she looked at Jon. "You wouldn't happen to know anything about that, would you?"

"No, no, I swear! Jesus, Karyn, you don't need to suspect me, of all people. Besides, look." He pulled out the paper with Sarah's name written on it, and Karyn's eyes went from suspicion to startled surprise.

"No way! you got Sarah?" She looked at him incredulously, and then looked a bit guilty "Sorry I ever doubted you, Jon. You're right, I should have known better." A mischievous glint appeared in her eyes. "Have you already done something to the Bitch in Chief though? Something good, I hope?"

"Just made her a bit too beefy for Biff's taste, and something else unrelated. For now, anyway. You?"

Karyn pulled out a slip of paper from her pocket with "Michael Hammond" written on it. It took Jon a couple seconds to figure out who the name belonged to since he never went by his full name, instead being known simply as...

"Mike the Moose? Well, that's an interesting one. I saw him get his face pummeled in at lunch, Biff thought he was the one with his paper. He wasn't. You do anything to him?"

Karyn shook her head. "Not really. I guess I'm not sure how to approach him. I mean, he's one of Biff's group, and they're always causing trouble with innocent kids, but then again he's probably the most harmless out of them. He doesn't strike me as a bad guy, just a bit... dim. He still lets them pull all sorts of things though, so I'm still deciding whether to be kind or cruel with him." Her face grew somber. "Honestly, I'm just more worried about who's got me than I am about what to do with him."

Karyn and Jon sat in silence for a few moments, before Jon asked, uncertain: "So what, uh, exactly have they done to you?"

Karyn blushed fiercely. "I'm-I'm not sure. For one he made it so I can't... I can't wear underwear anymore. I tried, but it just... disappears." Her face was very red now. "Then, every now and then I'll randomly..." She averted her gaze "Look, you get the idea. I don't know what the third wish is, but I guess it has to do with whatever happened back then, when we met up."

Karyn suddenly looked up, a thought wiping away the embarrassment of the situation from her face and replacing it with desperate hope.

"Wait, Jon, couldn't we use your rock? You know, to fix all this?"

Jon grimaced. He'd already tried, just before Karyn had arrived. It would certainly have been very convenient to resolve the whole mess in a single wish. Unfortunately, his wish for "something interesting" seemed to prevent him from interfering with the rock to make it all go away. Probably that wouldn't be very interesting.

"Sorry Karyn, I tried. The wishes are protected, and it seems the entire event is shielded somehow. I can still turn branches blue, but I can't even get information about who's got whose paper with it, or mess with anyone involved in the game."

Karyn visibly deflated. "Oh well, worth a try. I just hope I'm not too messed up by the end of the week."

Jon hated how downcast his friend looked, he hated how he was powerless to help her, but most of all he hated how this was all caused by his own stupid, careless wish. He decided to get her mind off things and change the topic.

"Well, let's make some wishes of our own! Moose may be a bit difficult for now, so why don't we decide what to do with my third wish on Sarah first?"
