Jon nearly walked right into Karyn as she was hurriedly leaving the girls' bathrooms.
"Karyn! Great timing, I was going to go looking for you. This whole thing with the wishes is getting crazy and... Karyn, are you okay?"
"F-Fine, Jon! I'm perfectly fine!"
Jon hadn't immediately noticed the way his friend was acting, but there was definitely something off with her. She was blushing very hard, as though with a fever, and she was avoiding his gaze, clearly trying to find some avenue of escape rather than wanting to deal with him. That was unusual.
"Karyn, you don't look fine! You're all red, and..."
Karyn suddenly bit her lips as an involuntary moan escaped her mouth, and she twisted her legs, arching her back slightly. The motion emphasized her magically enhanced breasts, and the nipples poking prominently through the fabric made it clear she wasn't wearing a bra. It didn't take a genius to figure out what was going on.
Jon grabbed Karyn's shoulders to steady her, even as tried to ignore the sudden tightness in his pants. His friend's predicament was terrifying, if he stopped to think about it, but no one had told his hormones that, and it was undeniably hot as hell. Damn but he was easily riled up today.
"Karyn." Jon held her as she seemed to gain control of herself. The bell had rung at some point, and people had already mostly gone to their classrooms, but those that hadn't were looking. "This is whoever drew you, isn't it?"
Karyn panted a bit, out of breath, then she suddenly whipped her head up as if she'd just noticed him, and the look in her eyes was part terror and part... something else. Suddenly Jon was acutely aware of how close they were standing to one another, and when she moved just a bit closer still, he could practically feel her hot breath on his face. Her eyes looked suddenly very huge. Had she always been this warm to the touch? Had her lips been this full before her wish?
That moment lasted for an long breathless second, then as quickly as it had started she snapped out of it and she was just vulnerable and terrified. She hugged him suddenly, all erotic charge drained out of the gesture despite the tightness of the hug, and Jon pretended he hadn't seen a tear in her eye as she'd done it. Karyn, staunch hater of the "emotional woman" stereotype, would never admit to it, of course, and he'd never mention it. That's what friends did.
"Jon, I'm scared, they're doing something to me and I can't do anything about it. This is so... so fucked up! Just now I was... I was..."
Jon patted her back a couple times, amicably. "There, there. You're right, this is fucked up, and we're gonna do something about it, alright? Meet me at my place after school and we can talk this over, figure something out. And, er, maybe skip the rest of the day's classes, yeah? You look like you need the time off more than you need the algebra."
He felt her nod on his shoulder more than he saw it, and he absolutely didn't hear her sniffle a bit when she said "Yeah. Yeah, that sounds good. Thanks Jon."
A few moments passed like, that, in silence, when she suddenly tensed and seemed to realize what she was doing and pulled back quickly, breaking the hug, her face flushing almost as red as before, only this time it was the familiar red of the girl he knew, and not the one he'd had... that moment with, less than a minute ago.
"You had better not breathe a word of this to anyone, Jon, or I'll kill you so bad even your ghost will need a morgue!"
"Not a word, Karyn, Scout's honor." Jon grinned as he held up three fingers. This was better. He could deal with this.
"Ugh, you're... insufferable!" She huffed and crossed her arms. "I'm going home. I'll go to your place when you do." Her expression softened, some worry in her eyes. "You're staying the whole day?"
Jon scratched his chin thoughtfully. "Yeah", he said after a moment of consideration, "I think so. Best be aware of what's going on around here, and I know who's got me. I think I should be safe."
Karyn raised an eyebrow, then closed her eyes and sighed. "Gee, that must be nice. Well, be seeing you Jon-boy. Stay in touch."
"I will. You stay safe. If anything weird happens, call me, I'll leave class if I need to."
With a wave and a small smile, they both split, each going their way.
Jon didn't notice as he walked away how the few girls inexplicably still lingering in the hallways were looking at Karyn with dirty looks, and at him with longing eyes and flushed faces.
