Jon took a big gulp before approaching the blonde. He looked at her up and down. She was a few inches taller than he was with very long legs. She was gorgeous in every sense of the word, and he imagined she might even do some modeling for local places on the weekends.
He mustered up his courage and spoke, "Hey, girlfriend, my name's Janet, and let me just say, like, wow! Those shoes are awesome. I totes wish I had a pair just like it. They look, like, sooooo good on you."
The blonde smiled, "You think so?"
"Ab-so-lute-ly," Jon replied.
"This may sound weird," The girl interrupted Jon, "But there's this dance coming up. I'm not going with anyone. No one has had the courage to ask me out. Would you mind going with me? I'll even let you borrow my shoes."
"They'd look so cute on me! Don't worry. I'm there for you."
Jon bounced back to Karyn, "OMG! Karyn, you would like not believe what just happened!"
Karyn wondered why Jon was still acting all girly and bubbly. Then she remembered. He was ostensibly still trying, and while she was going to go out with Jon. She hadn't agreed to his advances; he had agreed to hers. Did this mean Jon was stuck like this?
