"I wish that every time I say something wrong about the stone..." Jon hesitated before quickly adding, "Karyn would tell me."

"What?! Why did you wish for that?"

"Sorry, I wanted to do something else, like my hand would tremble, but I thought I might not notice, or it could happen without what I'm saying being wrong. I panicked because I was in the middle of a wish and said the first thing I thought..."

Karyn was pretty mad now. She didn't want to deal with any more wish tonight but was forcibly thrown into one without warning. "You panicked?! And your first fucking reflex was to add me into your wish? And you didn't even add a time limit, did you?"

"I... Forgot. Sorry, I didn't think..."

"I agree on that!"

"...But it could have been worse." Continued Jon, "I mean, how many times will I say something wrong about the stone once we learn how it works?"

"That's your excuse?! Should I be glad that you didn't wish me into a fat cow or something? Because I am SO glad!"

"It was an accident! it's my fault, I agree, but you don't need to shout..."

Karyn agreed that she was maybe a little excessive. As Jon had said, it would be a really small change to her life, even smaller compared to her wish earlier that had changed her body. She didn't care, though. Everything that has happened until now had weighted on her, and that wish was the last straw. "Oh, but I think I need to shout! If I shout enough, maybe you won't do something so STUPID again!"

There was a knock at her door. "Karyn?" Her mother asked, "Are you alright?"

Karyn forced herself to speak more quietly as she answered through the door, "I'm fine, mom. Jon just did something really stupid" She made sure Jon could still hear her. "But It's fine, I just need a little time to calm down."

"Alright, dear. I'll be downstairs if you want to talk about it." It helped Karyn calm down a little. Her mother was still her mother, even after all the madness the stone had already caused.

"Karyn?" Jon said, taking advantage of the momentary silence. "I know I fucked up and I am sincerely sorry. If I can make it up to you, I will do whatever you want. And maybe we can still reverse it with the stone."

"No, you can't." Karyn hadn't meant to say that. "Damn it Jon! That was your wish!"

"I'm sorry, I..."

"Stop apologizing!" Karyn forced herself to calm down. "Look, right now, I'm too mad at you to do anything. So we'll continue this conversation tomorrow, Okay?"

"Um... Sure, I guess."

"Good, see you tomorrow!" With that, Karyn hung up without letting Jon a chance to respond. Jon would surely feel bad about this, but she wanted him to feel bad. It was petty, she knew it, but it made her feel better.

She put her phone away and laid down on her bed, which didn't seem to have changed with her wish. Now that the moment had passed, she regretted her outburst. She hoped Jon would at least become more careful with the stone because of it.

Only time would tell...
