Karyn started leafing through the magazine, and the more she saw, the more horrified she got. It was as if someone had crossed Seventeen with not just Playboy, but something even raunchier. The clothes were all skimpy, obviously designed to show off girls' assets. The shoes all seemed to have ridiculously high heels. There were topless pictures (in a feature on miniskirts) and bottomless pictures (in a feature on labia piercings). The models all had thick coats of makeup on their faces and "tramp stamp" tattoos. An ad for Cover Girl lip gloss promised "the cocksucking lips he craves." An ad for a depilatory promised "make yours the smoothest pussy he's ever fucked."
It wasn't until she got to the centerfold -- singer Katy Perry in the process of removing a babydoll nightie -- that she slammed the magazine shut and dropped it on the floor.
"What's the matter?" asked Jon, bending down to pick it up.
"Jon, that's supposed to be a magazine for teenage girls!" Karyn exclaimed.
Jon looked at the issue in his hand, confused. "It is," he said. "I mean, yeah, I have some copies, but it's not like I read the articles while I'm jacking off."
"Jon!" Karyn gasped.
"Hey, you can't be here every time I get horny," said Jon. "Case in point, last week while you were gone. Of course, fucking you is so much better than --"
"Jon!" Karyn wailed.
"God, Karyn, whatever you wished out in the hall, it's got me a little scared. First you walk back in looking like that, and you're acting all weird about a perfectly normal magazine --"
"Perfectly normal?" Karyn interrupted. "Then why -- why do you keep them locked under your bed?"
Jon frowned. "So Mikey won't steal them. Zoe keeps her weirdo Goth girl magazines hidden, too. Let him save his allowance and buy them at the drugstore the way I had to."
Karyn protested, "But he's ten years old!"
Jon merely looked at Karyn quizzically after that statement. Finally, he said, "Okay, I guess it's a good thing you were distracted while you were looking at that Seventeen."
Karyn suddenly realized she wasn't holding the stone anymore. Jon had it in his left hand.
"We'll just have to get you back to your normal self," said Jon. "First of all, I wish..."
