"Wait a minute! One percent each time? I'm five-ten, that's 70 inches," Jon started before being interrupted.

"That would be 'were', as in past tense mon-petite," Karyn emphasized.

"OK, 'were' ... 'was' ... whatever. That's still point seven inches or there about. Let's see, you've made little, small, type insults about a half dozen times. That should make me about four inches shorter. Take off your heels and stand straight."

Karyn slipped off her heels and stood perfectly straight while stifling a smirk as Jon slipped off his own shoes and stood eye-to-eye with her. Waiting just few seconds until she was sure she had Jon's full attention, Karyn held Jon's gaze and said, "Do you like tall women little guy?"

Staring into Karyn's eyes from just inches away, the effect was obvious. Karen delivered her little insult, and suddenly she grew a little bit taller and he was looking slightly upwards into her eyes. Only Jon knew that Karyn had not grown.
