"I wished that you would be super smart, but I also wished that you wouldn't be overly nerdy or geeky."
"Interesting," Jon said.
"You're not shocked by any of this?" Karyn asked. She thought that he'd deny all that she had said. But he seemed to be taking it very well.
"Well, of course I am, Karyn. But it is intriguing to me to know that such quantum disturbances can affect the totality of any given spacial and temporal continuum. In this case, my own."
"I have no idea what you just said," Karyn said.
Jon sighed. "In laymen terms, I find it fascinating that the stone can completely change my life, both past and present, and even future."
"But you already knew that. Your grandfather said it in his letter."
"Yes. I know. But it's fascinating to see it in practice." Jon was about to say something else, but one of the lights started to blink on one of the gadgets he was wearing. "Ah ha! I knew it would happen!" he said, excitedly.
