Zoe went back to her room and sat on her bed, wondering why she even wanted to take Jon's stone in the first place. The stone didn't belong to her. It belonged to Jon. How did she ever become so cruel, that she even thought she could get away with stealing? Zoe began to rethink a lot of things about her life. Her choice of friends, her bad decisions, her less-than-spectacular relationship with her family, even her choice to be part of the Goth crowd, which was the one thing that really defined her.
She thought about all of it and didn't like what she saw. And now, more than anything, she just wanted to be a normal teenage girl.
None of this change in her was directly attributed to a wish made by Jon, however, but rather indirectly.
She stood up and walked back into Jon's room, confident of her decision.
Jon looked up from her bed. "Zoe? I thought I told you ..."
"I want you to use the stone on me."
Jon's eyebrow raised. "For what reason?"
"I want my life to be different," she said.
