"Whoa, dude," Karyn interrupted Jon. "Why don't you set that stone on the dresser, or in your hiding place, or wherever, and then we can talk about this wish you intend to make."
"OK," Jon agreed, "but you're not talking me out of this." Then he put the stone in its hiding place, so Karyn couldn't just grab it.
"So, were you going to wish that men found each other attractive, and that they could marry each other, and that somehow they could have children?"
"Uh, not exactly," Jon mumbled.
"Because how could two men possibly have a baby? At least one of them would need a vagina, uterus, fallopian tubes, ovaries, and so forth. And if someone has all of those, that makes them a woman."
"Well, maybe men could have their existing equipment plus those other parts. They could be hermaphrodites," Jon mused.
"What about women, or do you want to change all of us, too?" Karyn pressed.
Jon thought for a moment and then said, "Maybe all men wouldn't be hermaphrodites. Just me and enough others so that we could all find someone we like...
"Or maybe hermaphrodite men could still have sex with women if they wanted...
"Or maybe women could also be hermaphrodites. Maybe if two men had a baby it would always be a boy, and if two women had a baby it would always be a girl, and if a man and a woman had a baby it'd be a fifty-fifty chance...
"Or maybe pairs of men would have all the babies, and women could just nurse them. And even though they had nothing between their legs, they have orgasms through their breasts."
"Well, if you want men to take over the job of having monthly periods, I could go for that," Karyn allowed. "But as for all those other possibilities, imagine how many details could go wrong within each one. You could plan that wish for months and still end up with a global mess. Why don't you wish to just change your mind and marry a woman, or to become a woman yourself again?"
"How would you feel about becoming a guy, or mostly a guy?" Jon asked.
"Don't even think about it," Karyn warned him. "I knew there was a possibility of that happening, so one time when I had the stone I set up a rather nasty consequence if you ever tried that."
"I don't believe you," Jon stated.
